A Feature in the Publication Industrial Lift & Hoist

Teupen USA Lift helps facilities managerAndy VanHouten, facilities manager at the Strong Museum, Rochester, N.Y., rented a Teupen LEO15GT Plus compact tracked lift to do a variety of maintenance work on the 300,000-square-foot facility. During a week-long rental, he cleaned windows at heights to more than 50 feet, re-lamped lighting fixtures, and cleaned parts of the facility's exterior and interior.

The Strong is an independent, non-profit educational institution devoted to the study and exploration of play. Its facility houses the National Museum of Play, the International Center for the History of Electronic Games, the National Toy Hall of Fame, and the Brian Sutton-Smith Library and Archives of Play.

VanHouten selected the compact tracked lift because it could fit through a single doorway, maneuver and set up in tight spaces, and still reach the heights necessary to maintain the building. He reports that it was easy and smooth to operate. The LEO 15GT Plus fits through a single door, yet lifts 441 pounds to a platform height of 45 feet, or a lateral reach of 25'11″.

"The last time I hired a window cleaning company, it cost $6,000," says VanHouten. "This time, I rented the lift for a week, did the work myself, and saved the institution money."

The Strong rented the lift from Admar Supply Co., Rochester, N.Y., one of the largest independent construction sales and rental company in New York.
